Halloween is just a few weeks away! It’s a fun night where adults are given permission to dress up and play with different characters and personas. And if you’ve never done it before, it’s a great opportunity to explore role playing. Halloween stores have all kinds of fun and sexy costumes and props that you can use in role playing. But it can also be overwhelming if you don’t know where to start. Here are some tips to help you start exploring:
- Discuss your role playing ideas with your partner. What fantasies or ideas do you have for role playing and what characters you would like to play? You want to make sure the roles/characters not only turn you on but also feels safe to both of you.
- Go to the Halloween store together. This allows you to see what costumes you like to try out and which ones best fit your fantasies and role playing ideas. And of course, you also want to make sure you feel comfortable wearing the costume.
- Try a prop or two (or three!). If you’re new to role playing and don’t feel comfortable wearing a full costume, start off with something small. Try a wig, dramatic makeup, sexy masks, or fun props. For example, the CalExotics’ Scandal collection has some great things that can be used as props such as a Flogger or part of a costume like the Corsets with Cuffs. Even sex toys can double as pleasurable props. For example, your Passion Pals™ Jack Rabbit® can not only be your light saber for your Han Solo costume, but it can also be used to provide lots and lots of pleasure for your Princess Leia! (For you Star Wars fans!)
- Keep it safe. Create a safe word to stop the play for any reason. Agree that the play will end immediately when that word is used.
- Have Fun and Play! Stop taking yourself so serious. Remember, you are not playing a role to win an Oscar! If you’re not comfortable with the idea of improvising and role playing, then try watching a steamy movie together and acting out some of the best scenes as the characters in the movie. This may help you get more comfortable playing roles. Once you’re comfortable, you will be ready to improvise some roles and characters. Continue to play so you both will feel comfortable role playing.
Role playing can add more fun and playfulness in the bedroom as well as help you break out of your sexual rut. Remember, use your imagination and have fun!
Just came across the post by Betty Dodson: All Women can Orgasm if Clitoris & Erectile Tissue are Effectively Stimulated. It discusses another study that confirms that the clitoris is the source of female orgasm. It also discusses how vaginal penetration alone is not enough since most women worldwide do not have vaginal orgasms. This also confirms what we have been hearing from women for years in our private practice. What do you think? Do you agree or disagree?
Just read this article about the Scroguard: http://www.buzzfeed.com/alanwhite/the-scroguard-is-the-worlds-first….
What’s the Scroguard? Well, it’s an allover pelvis condom that reduces skin-to-skin contact in the scrotum and genital area to prevent STDs. According to the Scroguard website, it’s perfect for committed couples, casual sex partners, men who like sexual variety, and people who like to swing.
My first thought is this product is a great idea. It helps reduce the risks of STD’s such as herpes and HPV. You may know that condoms reduce the risk of STD’s, but you may not know that herpes and HPV can spread to other skin areas that are not covered by a condom through direct skin-to-skin contact. And herpes and HPV can be spread even when the person who has herpes is not having an outbreak, meaning no visible warts or sores.
According to the CDC, “You can get herpes by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has the disease. Fluids found in a herpes sore carry the virus, and contact with those fluids can cause infection. You can also get herpes from an infected sex partner who does not have a visible sore or who may not know he or she is infected because the virus can be released through your skin and spread the infection to your sex partner(s). Herpes symptoms can occur in both male and female genital areas that are covered by a latex condom. However, outbreaks can also occur in areas that are not covered by a condom so condoms may not fully protect you from getting herpes.” (Source: http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-herpes.htm)
Now with all that said, I am not sure how well this product will be received. The Scroguard website claims that is feels like a second skin. Well, some condoms claim to feel that way too and we still hear the complaints of some men saying they don’t like condoms because they don’t feel as good as the actual skin-to-skin contact. Thus, the Scroguard adds more area of not feeling like actual skin to skin contact. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big proponent of safer sex practices and protecting yourself from STDs. And when it comes to feeling skin-to-skin contact versus protecting myself from disease….I personally will take the condom every time!
The second concern is the fact that it looks similar to a skin-colored diaper. The aesthetics might be improved if they could make it look like something Under Armour would make. Changing the look might make the person more willing to wear it. Lastly, it is made out of latex which definitely leaves out the people who are allergic to latex.
All in all, I think this a great idea. Check out the video below for more information about the Scroguard. What are your thoughts? Guys, would you wear this?
